  • Regarding the B-Daman templates, I'd like to ask your opinion; is it better to have B-Damans with the tabs, or without tabs and have 2 images on top of each other? I'd like the opinion of a veteran :)

    • I assume you mean the info box template? If so, how they currently are works fine; some have tabs if necessary (when a character has appeared in more than one season of anime) and just one picture in the box.

    • I realise now you must have been looking at Thunder Dracyan's page; it's one of the few (I think there are others) who have this exception and include 2 pictures in the box instead of one because the Japanese and Hasbro versions look quite different. This doesn't mean it requires a new tab; the tab is only done so to present separate and a large amount of information to the box e.g. character descriptions from one season, see Yamato's page, to the next or a change in character like Rudy Sumeragi's page.

The main reason we don't do the tabbed thing for all of them is that some we just don't have the picture for the Tomy or Hasbro versions; it would look uneven to have some tabbed then and others not or even have them tabbed but with a big error picture in one of the tabs because we just don't have it's picture. Also, some B-Daman are the same in Hasbro and Tomy version; you can't tab those. Either you tab them all or tab none; seeing as we can't tab them all, we tab none. In actual fact, we're only supposed to display one picture, generally the Hasbro one gets priority over the Tomy version. Also if you're going to start adding tabs for each version, what about Sonokong versions? Or just alternative versions of the B-Daman itself? Take a look at Cobalt Blade's page at the long list under Other Versions. You want to start tabbing those? It would be ridiculous.

  • How do you add links to a page?

  • You seem to know a quite bit about B-Daman, and I'd like some help. I have this B-Daman from Hasbro that appears to be Proto One but has a camoflauge design and a longer barrel. Do you know what it's name is? I haven't been able to find any info on it on the internet

    ~Makoto

    • A long barrel might indicate it's a Shield Giga. If that doesn't match your B-Daman, it could be the Hasbro version of General One. If that fits neither of the 2, try sending me a picture ^__^

Unknown B-Daman; is it a One?

Here's a photo of it; haven't found any other pictures of it on the internet.

    • Ah, that's a General Cammo! It's a Hasbro-exclusive Proto One variant, with a nod to Cammogale. I've been looking for a photo of this B-Daman for a long while now, because of that and also my lack of time, there's isn't an article for this B-Daman on the Wiki yet but you can see the link to it on the Battle B-Daman templates at the bottom of pages. It's one of the many articles I hope to get around to making and updating over time; would I be able to use your photo for the article?

        Loading editor
    • Yes of course you can; I'll work on the page as well.

  • Hi, i'm Ari Cocodoro, i saw that you were one of the few people to still edit this sight, so, yeah.

I don't really specialize, but, i guess i specialise in Crossfight B-daman being Alba's sister, i know quite a bit about B-daman's history, and thanks to the other B-daman series, i know even more, even if some info doesn't add up.

I have a Chrome Raven, looks like Chrome Zephyr, (but i still call him Zephyr for some reason) but he has rollers in his core and a one-ganded grip with wings. He was one of the last 7 in the shop, and i was lucky enough to grab him when i did.

So, if you've got any pointers and stuff, can you give me some advise?

    • Oh, man, a B-Daman movie would be AWESOME! And it would certainly give B-Daman the attention it deserves :D

    • I know! It would give it so much publicity, and the adventure wont end, it'll just keep going, like life! :D The B-Humans of Crossfire ore coming!!!!

  • I didn't even know that there was a re-color of Shred Kaiser in that form that you added to the article! Is that a tournament prize?

    • I'm inclined to think it's a limited edition model. Contest prizes usually have a white box of some sort (even if it has a picture on the front) and the box also resembles the box style for Cobalt Sword's clear blue version.

  • I saw your comment in the Spike=Phoenix page and I totally agree with you on the difference between the two often-confused terms.

[http:// Comparison_LuminoDrago.jpg I took this photo a long time ago] and I know this is a photo depicting Bakugan but the horn parts can be great examples to depict the difference between Chromed (Japanese: メッキ Mekki) and Metallic (Japanese: メタリーク Metariku) just in case someone asks for an actual example. ^_^ Actually when someone asks me about it, I give them that photo.

Although, I'll be honest...I haven't exactly seen a Metallic B-Daman yet. However, compared to the Battle B-Daman series, Cross Fight B-Daman have a distinct grainy feel in their coloring when you look closely. It sort of makes them resemble some Shampoo's lather.

An example of a Chromed one, however, is the Rev=Dracyan and the Round=Drazeros. Another paint type which was not usually used is the High-Gloss (if that's what its called) or the paint applied to the core of Accele=Bearga.

    • Haha when I saw the title in my email inbox, I thought someone was having a hissy fit at me and was gonna tell me they're the same thing. This post has made my day :3 That's a really good comparison photo, thanks for that!

Yeah I haven't seen many metallic B-Daman myself, the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Accel Leon's silver armour, seeing as silver and gold paints are generally lobbed in the metallics family (although not always the case). I bought a mixed lot of B-Damans from someone a while back and there is a blackish/browny IBA body that's metallic style. You can see the little specks of light/glitter in the plastic and paint. That said, I have many B-Daman I've custom painted with metallic paints so I should nab a comparison photo from them too. Are there any B-Daman that have pearly armour? That's use of metallic white paint.

I think that's the easiest way to explain the difference; metallic is paint that is sparkly or glimmery in a way, and chrome is just wow can you make that any shinier (I love chrome so much XD).

Yeah I think it's called High Gloss paint, that's what I know it as, and it's opposer, Matte paint. I'm generally more of fan of working with matte paint because of high gloss's sticky feeling when you're touching the parts but that's just me :P Also, this is a great pic of metallic purple paint example.

EDIT: I have a preliminary photo of my finished Royal Saber for you. I just finished it, and it's dark outside so I can't take good photos, so some smaller details are missing e.g. you can kiiiinda see the red strip on his black ears. But I'm just glad he's finally done :D

    • Ah, how could I forget that Bearga and Leohjya has some Metallic paint job~! I guess my eyesight really is poor nowadays. T_T

Pearly Armor...hmm, I would say an example of that would be the Junker Unicorn from Super B-Daman. It looks Pearly to me compared to the Cobalt Blade's matte white.

Ohhh Shiny Gold and Red~! I can't wait to see the finished product. :D

Will you also be making a Silver and Blue B-Daman like a Chrome Levan as a complimentary piece? I am quite obsessed with Silver + Blue myself. XD

        Loading editor
    • I didn't think about a blue and silver combo, that would look nice actually! Not sure what character I would end up doing though, I'm not a big fan of Chrome Levan. Either way I'll add it to my future customs list; at this stage, I have 4 other customs I'm working on so I want to get those done first :P
